FAQs

  • There are various circumstances that may bring us into therapy. If you are experiencing symptoms that are interfering with your daily functioning, it might be an indication to seek out therapy services. If you believe you are functioning at a less than optimal or ideal level (for yourself), therapy may be helpful. Therapy creates a safe space that allows for clarity and support to help you cope with the various challenges of life.

  • A consultation is a great way for you to learn about your therapist, before commencing sessions. You can learn more about the therapy process, your therapist’s mode of practice, their fees, policies and so on. This information can help you decide if the therapist is a good fit for you. Additionally, your therapist gets to learn more about you and the reason you're seeking services, which is helpful to determine if it is within their scope of practice.

  • Unfortunately, there is no way to determine how many sessions you will need. Therapy is not a one size fits all approach and there is no fixed number of sessions. The number of sessions will vary depending on individual needs and reason for seeking services.

  • Ibi Ayo charges N40,000 per session for individual & adolescent therapy and N60,000 per session for couples and family sessions.

International pricing available as well. Please contact us for more information.

  • A consultation is required before therapy sessions can commence. Once that is completed and the therapy agreement paperwork is signed and payment is made, the first session can be scheduled. In the first session (also called an intake session), the therapy agreement is reviewed, and pertinent background information is collected. Goals for therapy are also reviewed.

Ibi Ayo is bound to a strict code of ethics and all therapy sessions are confidential. However, there are some limits to confidentiality. These are discussed in the initial intake session.
