Film Set Wellness

Wellbeing Support for Film & TV Productions

Behind every production is a team carrying pressure you don't always see.

Film and television productions are high-intensity environments. Long hours, emotional demands, tight schedules, sensitive scenes. All of it adds up. And increasingly, leading broadcasters and funders, including the BBC and BFI, require productions to demonstrate a commitment to cast and crew wellbeing as part of their funding and production standards.

At Ibi Ayo, we provide on-set psychological wellbeing support in Nigeria and Africa, designed specifically for cast and crew working under pressure. Whether you are an international production filming in Nigeria or a local production committed to raising the standard of care on set, we are here to support your team.

What This Looks Like on Set

Our on-set wellbeing services are designed to integrate seamlessly into your production — without disrupting workflow.

  • Discreet, on-site psychological support throughout production

  • Pre- and post-scene psychological check-ins for cast, particularly around emotionally demanding or sensitive scenes

  • Collaboration with your intimacy coordinator to provide wraparound psychological support during intimate scenes

  • A dedicated cast and crew support line accessible throughout production

  • One-on-one sessions for cast and crew as needed

  • Deescalation support during high-pressure moments on set

  • Pre-production wellbeing planning

  • Ongoing check-ins to maintain team wellbeing across the shoot

  • Rest day and post-production decompression support

Every production is different. Our approach is adaptive, discreet, and tailored to your team and schedule.

Why Productions Are Investing in This

Because pressure shows up somewhere. In delays, in tension, in burnout, and incidents that could have been prevented.

Cast and crew psychological wellbeing support helps to:

  • Meet broadcaster and funder wellbeing requirements

  • Protect the mental health and safety of your team

  • Reduce risk during emotionally demanding or high-stress scenes

  • Maintain performance, focus, and cohesion across a long shoot

  • Create a safer, more sustainable working environment

In short: when people are supported, productions run better.

Who We Work With

Our services are designed for:

  • International productions filming in Nigeria or across Africa

  • Productions seeking to meet BBC, BFI, or other broadcaster wellbeing requirements

  • Local Nigerian film and television productions investing in cast and crew care

  • Studios, networks, and independent production companies

  • Productions working with intimacy coordinators who want integrated psychological support

We operate as a trusted production wellbeing consultant in Lagos, working alongside your team from prep to wrap.

Our Experience

Ibi Ayo has delivered on-set cast and crew psychological wellbeing support on major international productions including My Father's Shadow (Dir. Akinola Davies Jr.) and LADY (Dir. Olive Nwosu), making us the first provider of this service in Nigeria.

We worked embedded within both productions across long shooting days, collaborating directly with the intimacy coordinator and providing hands-on, adaptive support to large cast and crew throughout. This is still new in many production environments but we have already done it, and we know how to make it work.
