About Me
Hello, I’m Benjamin Onyesom
I’m a Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist, and I'm passionate about helping individuals navigate some of life’s most difficult emotional and psychological experiences. I believe therapy should be a safe, collaborative space where you feel heard, supported, and equipped with practical tools that create lasting change. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practice, because I believe the support you receive should not only feel good, but also be effective.
Some of my areas of expertise include:
Depression
Anxiety
Suicidal ideation
Substance use relapse prevention
Family functioning challenges
Digital wellbeing
Adolescent identity formation
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree from Redeemer’s University, Ede, Osun State, and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State. I am also a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Practitioner, certified by the Academy of Modern and Applied Psychology, Dunfermline, Scotland.
Over the years, I have worked across a variety of clinical settings, including neuropsychiatric institutions and medical hospitals, providing psychological assessments, individual therapy, group therapy, and behavioural intervention plans. I also have extensive experience supporting individuals living with chronic medical conditions, and I understand that physical health and emotional wellbeing often go hand in hand. My goal is to help clients develop practical coping skills that foster resilience, not just during therapy, but long after our work together.
Outside of sessions, you're likely to find me watching comedy movies or animations, getting lost in a great nonfiction book, or enjoying the comfort of being indoors. I also believe a good sense of humour can go a long way, and I enjoy bringing warmth and authenticity into both my work and everyday life.
