About Me

Hello, I’m Benjamin Onyesom

Benjamin Onyesom is a Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist committed to helping individuals navigate some of life's most difficult emotional and psychological experiences. His practice is grounded in scientific, evidence-based care, because he believes that the support you receive should not only feel good, but actually work.

Benjamin has worked across a range of clinical settings, including neuropsychiatric institutions and medical hospitals, where he has delivered psychological assessments, individual therapy, group therapy, and behavioural intervention plans. A significant part of his experience includes working with individuals managing chronic medical health conditions, where he understands firsthand that physical illness and psychological wellbeing are deeply intertwined.

He works with people experiencing depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, substance use relapse prevention, and challenges around family functioning. He also has a focused interest in digital wellbeing, helping clients build a healthier, more intentional relationship with technology, and adolescent identity formation, supporting young people through one of the most defining seasons of their lives.

One of Benjamin's core passions is helping clients develop strong, practical coping skills, not just to survive difficult moments, but to carry genuine resilience with them long after they leave the therapy room.

Benjamin holds a Bachelor's degree from Redeemer's University, Ede, Osun State, and a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State. He is also a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Practitioner, certified under the Academy of Modern and Applied Psychology, Dunfermline, Scotland.

Outside of his clinical work, Benjamin enjoys comedy movies, animations, and getting lost in a good nonfiction book. He is an indoor person at heart, and someone who takes his sense of humour just as seriously as his science.
